Missionaries

Lately we have been able to get to know the Elders in our area. It has been really cool. I have a new appreciation for how hard the Elders work. This pic was taken at the beginning of December, it was the day that Elder Queen was transferred (he is the one on the right). It was sad, but we got Elder Fly and he is a good guy.

Snow Day

Bailey's first big snow storm was last weekend. She loved it! She even tried to make a snow angel. I think my favorite part of this is that she has her binky in.

Santa 2008

Our Ward Christmas Party was a week or two ago. Bailey went straight to Santa and sat on his lap. We told her that Santa would give her a treat, so she decided that the big guy was okay.

Family Pictures

Since I haven't updated a lot in the past month, I thought I would get everything in :-)

We had family pictures taken on Sept 15. Which was also my mom's birthday. All she wanted was family pictures and dinner. But I think she enjoyed the Wii as well - good job Winn's.

Zoo

A few weeks ago we took Bailey to the Zoo. She loved it. She especially loved the carousel. One not so great side affect - Bailey had nightmares two nights in a row after we went to the zoo. Another weird thing - Bailey has started crawling and growling. Mind you, she never crawled before we went to the zoo. She skipped that and started walking instead.

I am not sure who had more fun at the zoo, Bailey or Ben. Thanks Reg & Sue for a fun day.

Em & Jason's Housewarming

If you know Emily, you may have noticed that she goes overboard once in a while. Her housewarming party was one of those 'rare' occasions. Light refreshments...whatever! And I might add that this was only the cold refreshments. The hot refreshments covered her entire bar and counter.
Bailey loved the housewarming. She thought the entire party was held for her. She went around saying hi to everyone and eating as many treats as she could.

Wyoming

So, as you can tell I have been a slacker on my blog lately. There is just too much going on.

We did go to Star Valley, Wyoming this summer. We went for a week in August. It was wonderful! Thank you mom & dad for putting everything together. We shopped in all the fun shops in Star Valley / Afton, ate at Rocky Mountain Seafood (a personal favorite), hit the Lincoln County Rodeo, went to Jackson for lunch & shopping, visited with Doug & Cindy, read a book, geo cached, watched movies, played games, and just had a fun relaxing time. Thanks to all the family!

Here is a picture of the family in Jackson.

Now on to the next projects:

2. Flowerbeds
3. Painting the house
4. Shed
5. Fence
6. Etc. Etc. Etc.

This house thing is never ending!

We also have to thank Ms. Booger for such a cute outfit. Straight from Hawaii.

Memories

I thought that this one would be fun to look back on memories. Here are the rules:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.
Thanks for the idea Jason!

Don't Leave Anything Out!!

Just wanted to alert everyone about the new terror at my house... BAILEY!

She has started cruising the furniture, walls, cupboards, people's legs, basically anything she can get her hands on. She gets into everything and puts it all in her mouth. Childproofing here we come!

Mothers Day

My first official Mothers Day was great. Ben let me sleep in and then made me breakfast in bed. That was all Bailey could take, afterwards she fell asleep sitting up in her crib.

We visited Grandma Janet and watched the Jazz game.
We had dinner with Grandma Sue.

And Bailey played in the sandbox and swing. A very busy day. Happy Mothers Day to everyone!!

St. George

We went on vacation to St. George from 4/30 - 5/4. It was nice and warm. We took Bailey swimming for the first time, she LOVED it. Once she figured it out, she kept walking us to her swimming suit so we could take her again. We went twice a day just to make her happy.

Ben and I decided we are truly parents, because we visited the Instacare while on vacation. Thursday night Bailey woke up with a high fever and was so upset. She had a sore throat and a tooth coming in. She slept about 2 hours night for the rest of the trip.

So, we had a good time, we were just exhausted. Thank you Emily & Jason for letting us stay at your house and for not getting upset when Bailey kept you up all night :-).

Here is Bailey in her swim suit cover and sun hat.
The backyard of Jason & Emily's house.
Bailey all partied out.

Water

Last night the water main was covered up and we officially have running water!! The heat should be fixed tomorrow (the heating vents had to be cut to fix the water main). Thank you cousin Jason for saving our bacon!

Bailey is also doing well, no more swelling. It was probably just a virus. I guess I shouldn't get too excited about these things. Apparently kids just have weird things all the time and as my mom says, I am too uptight about it. :-)

Next project - getting the sprinkler system in.

Longest Week Ever

Well... We have had the longest week ever, at least it seems that way. I am going to bore you with the details.

Monday - Last weekend we noticed that Bailey's hands were swelling and they were really red. So we watched her and by Monday afternoon her whole body was swollen. So off to the Dr. we went. Three hours, one catheter, and blood draw later...we found out that she may or may not have a viral infection that settled in her skin. Basically we watch her and get another urine sample next week. So far we are good, no swelling and Bailey seems just fine.
While I was having fun with Bailey, Ben was home working on the yard. We are ripping up the lawn and old leaky sprinklers and putting in new. So we have a 1/2 torn out yard.

Tuesday - Ben moved to a new department at work. And I don't think i mentioned this before, but i have a new job at work as well. I started last week.

Wednesday - I did primary visits and book group. Emily (wonderful sister that she is watched Bailey). Ben was back at the yard. Unfortunately while digging up the yard, the backhoe hit the water main and it basically shattered. The pipes were old and corroded so we went without water that night.

Thursday - I spent the day working at my mom's (I work from home two days a week). That way Bailey and I could shower and have hot water for bottles. Tonight we had a number of people over to look at the water main and try to determine how to fix it. The best ideas included: put up a for sale sign, dig a basement, extend the front of the house 2 feet, cut through the foundation, etc. So you can see we have a small problem. Our house is built on a concrete slab, no basement, no crawl space.

Friday... We have another plummer coming over to take a look.

I'm not worried - I hear indoor plumbing is over-rated!

Happy Easter!

Bailey's first Easter was a success. The Easter Bunny made it to our house and brought Bailey a swimming suit and sunglasses. Unfortunately she was more interested in her Daddy's basket of candy. I had to pry a peanut m&m out of her mouth - a task harder than it sounds.

Texas Longhorns

I had to go Austin, Texas on business this week. So of course Bailey received a present - who knew she was a Texas Longhorns Fan?!

Helmet Head

Today we had Bailey's one month appointment for her helmet. In case you haven't seen Bailey lately, she is now sporting a lovely pink with butterflies helmet. We hope the helmet will round out her flat head. Apparently it is working - YEAH!! One more month of wearing it 23 hours a day and then one month of wearing it at night and we will be done.

I am so glad that Bailey will be done before summer. I can't imagine how uncomfortable it would be to wear in the heat.

Comments heard about the helmet:

  • What football team does she play for?
  • Hey Helmet Head!
  • We should write "Bowling League Champion 2007" on her helmet (thank you Aunt Emily)

Jackson, Wyoming

We went to Jackson on 2/15-2/17/08 to celebrate Emily and my birthdays. The coolest part of the trip was snowmobiling into the forest service land and feeding 1700 elk from a sleigh - thank you Royce.

Bailey was so good! I can't believe how well she traveled. We also ate at Rocky Mountain seafood -possibly the best fish & chips around and we hit Jackson High School Basketball game - Go Uncle Doug!!
